Mark Master Masons Golf Society

Golf in the Fast Lane

Brethren, on January 29th, 2020 The George Parker Lodge of Mark Master Masons, No. 1316 was reopened by the Provincial Grand Master R.W. Bro. Edward R Garty, with great gusto on a night, which is fondly remembered by all concerned.

Then the dreaded lock down came into effect before we had a chance to get a fixture date, so the membership has been looking forward to a round of golf for 15 months.

On Tuesday the 27th of April it finally happened, the sunshine shone down all day on what was a great event,
thoroughly enjoyed by the 12 players who took part.

Members of the Lodge from left to right Bro Martin Mellamphy; W Bro Kanti Mistri; W Bro Steven Berkshire and Eddy Garty an Honorary Member.

And also members from left to right Bro. Kevin Dent‐
Burnett; W Bro Peter Hyde and Bro George Fraser.

The day started with a leisurely coffee at 10.30 am
followed by three four balls consecutively teeing off at
11.05 am onwards at the nine‐hole Abbey Moor golf
course, just off Junction 11 of the M25.

Others including Bro John Hoare, a member of the Lodge; Steve Bevis; Neville Daniels and Robert Rough APGM Middlesex Craft and Bro Mike Steen in the afternoon session.

The first round was successfully played, followed by an hour of self‐distancing socializing, with sandwiches and cake supplied by Tina Hyde.

The second round was enjoyed, finishing with a well‐deserved shandy on completion.

Everyone complimented the day and the condition of the

Our next day will be on the Tuesday 25th May, again at Abbey Moor.

We have managed to secure bacon sandwiches prior to the golf and a three‐course dinner after the 18 holes for £25.00 per head.

The green fees are £32.00, so for £57.00 a great day awaits us.

The day is open to everyone, Freemasons and non‐freemasons alike, so please look at your friends and invite them along.

The object of our society is that “All men are equal, but some more equal than others”.

Middlesex Mark is the “Friendly Degree“, where we will try and make sure that it stays that way.

Every Brother has a good time, and hopefully we may be able to raise a little money for charity, and help those people that are in a less fortunate position than ourselves.

At the moment we are in the process of sending out challenges to other Provinces and other Orders in Middlesex, so if you fancy a challenge, and a good day out playing golf, please come and join us.

It would be nice if you joined the George Parker Lodge to socialise with other Brethren like yourselves.

We will be setting up a series of Trophies that could be won in the future:-

– The Provincial Grand Masters Cup
– The Captains Members Cup
– The Visitors Cup
– Nearest the pin
– Longest Drive, etc, etc, etc

We hope that Lodges will sponsor a cup in their name, for a small donation, for a period of five years raising even more money for charity.

I have included a downloadable PDF invitation form (to follow), should you would like to join us on Tuesday 25th May, inviting Masonic and non‐Masonic Golfers.

Everyone is welcome !
