Memory Days 2023
Every year we hold special Memory Days at our hospices.

These days are for families whose child has died, inviting them to celebrate, remember and talk about their child.

The days were filled with story sharing, delicious food, canvas bags with items important to the day, and at our Hampton hospice, Shooting Star House, we welcomed an engraver, giving families the chance to watch their star be engraved with their child’s name, before hanging it on our memory tree.

Please support our bereavement appeal
21-month old William died in Hannah and Keith’s arms on 17 November 2021, a few days after suffering from a seizure and cardiac arrest. What William had was known as Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC).

It was three weeks after William died that the family met Paige, one of our Family Support Workers. William’s mum, Hannah said, “Paige told us about the bereavement services that Shooting Star Children’s Hospices offer to the whole family. The bereavement support, counselling and therapies we’ve received as a family has been fundamental. They’re a charity I hold dear to my heart.”

You can help families just like Hannah’s by donating today, because we truly could not provide the care and support we do without you.

Would you consider leaving us a gift in your will ?
All our supporters are amazing and support us in so many different ways. Some choose to leave us a legacy, a gift through their will. It is often those with the greatest belief in our work who remember Shooting Star Children’s Hospices in this special way.

Leaving a gift in your will is a big decision to make, but every gift in every will, however large or small, makes a huge difference to our vital work.

To find out more about leaving a gift in your will, or to learn more about writing your will for free, please email Laura Whittle at Laura.whittle@shootingstar.org.uk or phone on 01932 823109.
