Visit to the Oxfordshire Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons – Thursday 8th May 2025
On Thursday 8th May 2025, the Provincial Grand Master of Middlesex, Right Worshipful Brother Peter Hyde, led a distinguished delegation from the Middlesex Executive to Oxfordshire, in support of their Annual General Meeting (AGM). This significant event was hosted by the Oxfordshire Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons and presided over by their Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Ian Wright.
The meeting took place at the splendid Oxford Masonic Centre, Cardinal House, a well-regarded venue nestled in the tranquil Oxfordshire countryside. Conveniently located just outside Oxford City Centre and easily accessible via the M40, the venue provides an elegant and serene setting ideal for gatherings of this stature. Known for its rolling landscapes, charming villages, and rich heritage, Oxfordshire offered a fitting backdrop for an event marked by dignity and fraternal warmth.
The AGM was exceptionally well-attended, with the meeting room filled with anticipation and a strong spirit of friendship. The Middlesex delegation, smartly turned out and warmly received, played an integral role in the day’s proceedings. Representing the Province of Middlesex were: RW Bro Peter Hyde, Provincial Grand Master; W Bro Stephen Heynes, Assistant Provincial Grand Master; W Bro Andrew Elliott, Assistant Provincial Grand Master; VW Bro Marcus Padman, Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies; VW Bro Michael Crombie, Provincial Grand Almoner; and W Bro Sanjiv Shah, Provincial Grand Treasurer.
The meeting itself was a resounding success, reflecting both the hard work of the Oxfordshire Provincial team and the strength of Mark Masonry in the region. Following the formal business of the day, Brethren enjoyed a convivial Festive Board – a highlight of the Masonic tradition, where members from different Provinces came together in fraternal fellowship, good humour, and shared purpose.
After what was an enjoyable and memorable day, the Middlesex team made their way back home, uplifted by the hospitality extended by the Oxfordshire brethren and proud to have supported such a meaningful occasion.
Visits such as these not only reinforce the close bonds between Provinces but also serve as a reminder of the strength and unity that lie at the heart of Mark Masonry across the country.
