A wonderful meeting of Temple of Uxbridge Lodge of Mark Master Masons, No. 1393 was held on Thursday 14th December, when the Provincial Grand Master entered, accompanied by an Escort of 20 Provincial Grand Officers.
RW Bro Eddy Garty occupied the Master’s chair, and then surprised everyone by proceeding to conduct the Ceremony of Advancement for Bro Leigh Fowler in a most exemplary manner, which must have made quite an impression on the candidate.
This Ceremony was followed by the main purpose of the visit, which was to present a 50 year Certificate to a former Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro Peter Halls-Dickerson.
RW Bro Eddy revealed that it was RW Bro Peter who had progressed his Mark career when he appointed him a Deputy Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, and then subsequently as a Grand Steward.
Peter’s own Masonic career was detailed, and he was credited with rebuilding the Province to the successful organisation it now is, after some turbulent years.
The brethren then retired to an excellent festive board, and the conclusion of a memorable afternoon and evening.
