Re-Launch of the Middlesex Support & Demonstration Team

Meeting of prospective members of the Support Group, at 7.00pm on Thursday 20th July 2023, at Cole Court Twickenham

After all the trials and tribulations of the Covid Pandemic and the resultant lockdowns over the past two years or so, Mark Masonry is slowly getting back to something like normal.

Following the recent Provincial Mark recruitment initiative we have seen a steady flow of candidates wishing to join this beautiful and important Degree in Freemasonry.

As a consequence, it has been decided that we now need to re-launch the Provincial Mark and Royal Ark Mariner Support & Demonstration Team.

Initially it is proposed to concentrate on establishing the Support Group with a view to developing a Demonstration Team over the next 18 months to two years.

Since the restart of masonic meetings, the issue has not necessarily been the quality of work undertaken, but more to do with the lack of numbers, and/or the availability of lodge members, within smaller lodges, feeling confident enough to carry out various parts of the ritual.

Therefore this is an appeal to those Masons who are prepared to provide assistance to lodges and brethren who require guidance and help with certain elements of the ceremonies.

You should have a high level of competence regarding the ritual and ceremonies in both the Mark Master Mason and Royal Ark Mariner Degrees.

The intention is to re-establish the Support Group to assist lodges with the Advancement and Elevation Ceremonies, by undertaking a specific office/role and thus ensuring the candidate has a first rate ceremony and a proper introduction to the Degree.

Also, if required, to assist Lodges with installation of a new Worshipful Master or Worshipful Commander.

The ultimate aim is to establish a Demonstration Team, drawn from members of the Support Group, who are capable of undertaking a presentation of the Advancement and Elevation Ceremonies to a very high standard.

In the fullness of time it is hoped that the Demonstration Team will be sufficiently developed to carry out full demonstrations of various elements of the ritual so that, subject to due notice and availability, lodges will be able to invite members of the Team to undertake a demonstration of a particular ceremony as an alternative agenda item when they do not have any other business to transact.

Any Brother who would like to be included in this exciting project will be made most welcome.

The invitation is extended not just to Provincial Officers, but to any member of the Mark Province of Middlesex.

Please make yourself known, by contacting the Support Group Secretary, whose details are below :
